This unit does not function as advertised. It takes nearly 12 minutes to receive hot water at the furthest sink from the tank, approximately 50 ft away (which is my kitchen sink). I waste more water waiting for it to get hot than I am saving in energy costs by "upgrading" to this equipment over replacing my standard hot water tank. I cannot even fill my bathtub completely up. The water does not come out of the faucet hot enough, I have to run it through the Shower because of the low flow shower head, the water has more time to heat and hence comes out hot. Completely defeats the purpose of taking a bath as opposed to a shower when I have to fill the bathtub through the shower! It does not stay hot long enough to fill the tub. The water gets nice and hot for about 8 min while showering, but then it will freeze you out with ice cold water as this unit seems to have some type of safety on it where it gets so hot, then stops working to allow it to cool down before continuing to heat up the water. So every 8 min in the shower I have to stand to the side and wait about 45 seconds up to 3 minutes for the hot water to return. I am so disgusted with this product. I was unable to return it to either Home Depot of the manufacturer. I am irate that this unit does not function as advertised. I live in a small barely 1000 sq ft home and I live alone. This is unacceptable. $300 wasted on a block of metal, not to mention the almost $200 I spent converting my plumbing & water line hook ups and installing an electrical socket especially for this item to function - all gone! Total waste of money, time and aggravation! What I thought would save me money is now going to cost me triple the original cost of replacing the standard 40 gal hot water tank in my home, because now I have to still spend nearly $600 on a new hot water tank, re-convert the lines and outlet, all to replace this item that was falsely advertised to function in a manner it absolutely does not!
