Works OK, Despite Cold Slugs

The price was right, especially for the output. It requires a full 3/4" gas line from the meter for proper operation. While it's reliable enough after a year's use, it produces "cold slugs" in the HW flow whenever the water is turned off and on in continuous use (such as taking a military shower). I'll have to add a small 2-3 gallon temperature blending tank in line after the the heater to even out the water temp. Also, it will click off-on if it detects a drop in incoming water pressure, such as when cold water is turned on elsewhere in the house.This produces more cold slugs. The issue isn't the brand or design, but rather that these whole house tankless heaters need a recirc loop in the heater to assure consistent outlet water temp. Other brands offer the recirc feature, and it's worth the extra cost if you want tank-type uniform water temperature (and you do).
