The Navien NPE180 A2 is a fine Tankless water heater when installed properly. A properly installed unit will include : Expansion Tank, Scale Shield, Isolation Valves for Flushing. If no Scale shield in used then Add the following, Whole House Water Conditioner e.g. Aquasana Rhino w/ Chloramine Filter or a Softener Using Potassium or Sodium . When using a softener also add an RO Filter to the kitchen sink for Clean good tasting water. This system if maintained annually could last upwards to 25yrs. For Homes larger than 1500Sq Ft a recirculating pump is desired and you may consider stepping up to the NPE 240A unit.
