2nd Warranty Unit Works Better, But...

May 27, 2021Chris in the Gig · Review provided by noritz.com3/5

Second Noritz unit, replacing the original builder-installed version on a new construction. That one was having signficant issues (incomplete combustion, resulting in loud bangs that visibly popped the front of the unit). Local certified technician couldn't fix after multiple attempts and, to Noritz' credit, they replaced the original (after 3 years of service) with an upgraded model. This one works better in terms of heating & circulating the water, but it seems to cycle on every 90-120 seconds. I called Tech Support to make sure that was normal, and was told it is. However, I can't imagine it's good for the long-term longevity of the unit (personal opinion). In any case, I have mixed feelings about these tankless systems and certainly wouldn't table-pound to have another one installed on a future house.
