Excellent heater but install as close to point of
February 26, 2024 — BrandonOhio6792 · Review provided by lowes.com — 4/5I like the water heater, the efficiency, and the endless hot water. I'm surprised at the time it takes to get hot water to different areas. In purchasing a tankless heater, we're looking for efficiency and economics. Saving money by not heating water we aren't using. The recirc pump doesn't sound feasible because then you're heating the water in uninsulated pipes all the time, so my suggestion would be to mount this as close to your kitchen/laundry as possible so it's hotter quicker. In the case of our dish washer, it draws roughly 2 gallons and then cycles, so when it draws hot water from the heater, the hot 2 gallons doesn't make it to the dish washer when it starts because it's still in the line. Defeats the point of using the hot water on that device. You can calculate the flow/time in a 1/2" pipe by about 1.5 seconds per ft of line. That being said, if your device is 40' away, it's just about a full minute of cold water before it starts to get warm. This isn't because of the water
