Works great so far

October 30, 2013Bill · Review provided by supplyhouse.com4/5

I bought this 12kW whole house tank-less heater to serve as a booster to my solar hot water drain back system, replacing a small 29 gallon water heater that was serving this same purpose. During a prolonged period of cloudy weather, this tank less heater had no problem bringing 70 degree water in the 120 gallon solar tank to 120 degrees for a single point of use, such as a shower or clothes washer. I have a tempering valve between the tank less and the solar tank to protect the tank less heater from receiving water over 131 degrees F, and a bypass series of valves to avoid the tank less heater altogether during the summer when we almost would never need it. So far, I am happy with my purchase. The only thing that concerned me about this product was that it was wired rather sloppily inside, with wires too short and as a result touching the heating clamber. I did my best to twist tie the wires away from the heating chamber during installation, but it seemed to me a much better wiring assembly job should have been done at the factory. This heater should last me a long time as we will rarely ever use it. Time will tell.
